James E. Anderson Sr.


James E. Anderson Sr., 93, of Tampa, Florida passed away at the Advent Health Care Hospital, Tampa, Florida on October 17, 2020.

He was born in Perropolis, Pennsylvania on September 5, 1927 to Charles W. and Edythe T. (Woisnet) Anderson.   He served in the US Army Air Corps, now United States Air Force during World War II as a Physical Training Instructor and was qualified in the Carbine and MKM Pistol.  After being honorable discharged on November 2, 1945, he returned to Versailles, Pennsylvania.  He worked in food service sales and in 1972, he and the family relocated to Tampa, Florida from McKeesport, Pennsylvania.  James was of the Protestant faith and a member of the F&AM Masonic Lodge.

James was a loving son, husband, father, brother and grandfather and great grandfather.   He is survived by his loving family:  his wife, Dorothy of Tampa, FL; sons, James E. Anderson Jr. and his wife, Debby of Lakeland, Florida and Donald E. Anderson and his wife, Debra of Tampa, Florida; a daughter, Marisue Montes of Spring Hill, Florida; a brother, Robert Anderson of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at the Veterans Funeral Care Chapel, 830 North Belcher Road, Clearwater, Florida on Saturday, November 7, 2020 starting at 2:30 PM.  The family will receive friends in the chapel starting at 1:30 pm until service time.
