JOANNE K. HAWKINS

Joanne Hawkins was born & raised in Chester, PA and graduated from Chester High School. She met her husband, John (Jack) Pearson Hawkins, a World War II Navy Veteran who served on the USS Pivot 276 Minesweeper in the Pacific at a roller skating rink. After they were married in 1966, they lived in Delaware then relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 1968 where they both attended Florida Jr. College and Jacksonville University for Courses on Property Management. Joanne headed up the Marketing Department for a Non-Profit Organization connected with the National Cancer Institute and also worked as a bookkeeper for several years for the IBT.

Joanne enjoys the Bible, Genealogy, Organ Music, Ballroom Dancing, Camping, Cruises and Poetry. She was invited to attend the International Library of Poetry Convention and her poem was published in “Voices for the Soul” and “A Flood of Contentment.” She and her husband skated competitively and placed in the top five in the U.S. Southeast Regionals as a dance team with Joanne placing 1st in Figures at the Southeast Invitationals. Joanne also attends Theocratic Ministry School.

She finds comfort in helping others. Working in her current position as an office administrator has made her feel much more aware of the needs of other people.

She and Jack, were married for 45 years and had 5 daughters, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren before he passed. Joanne now resides in New Port Richey along with her Parti-Yorkie, Kynfetti-Jo.
