Alex was born in Tampa, Florida on April 6, 1954. His parents are Alexander R McCormick and Sylvia J Bearse McCormick. His mother passed December 24, 2003. He has an older sister, Maxine L Bignall; a younger brother, Stephen D McCormick; a younger sister, Melody J McCormick; a younger half-sister, Theresa Topete; and a step-sister, Val Gonzales. He attended high school in Tampa, FL. He enlisted in the US Army followed by an enlistment in the US Navy. He spent some time in California but eventually returned to Florida. He enjoyed fishing, watercraft riding, and motorcycling. He was a great cook. He was also quite the handyman and mechanic. He married Cathy on February 28, 2011. He died on December 24, 2011 after a long struggle with liver cancer. He is also survived by his father and step-mother, Alex and Sadie McCormick of Tampa, FL.
