Donald Raymond Cleckner, 68, of Palm Harbor, FL passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor. He was born in Barberton, OH on August 25, 1943, the son of the late Vernon and Nellie Jo Wickwire Cleckner. Donald was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam War and later was employed as a senior instructor at various nuclear power facilities.
Donald is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nellie G. Cleckner; his daughter, Patsy Pettigo; three grandchildren: Shaykiryra Stone and Camielle Schippers (Joshua), both of Newton, IA, and Jeffrey Stone of Palm Harbor, FL; six great-granddaughters on Newton, IA; his sister Gloria Cleckner Morris of Willima, OH; two brothers: Michael Cleckner (Honey) of New Jersey and Kenneth Cleckner (Ann) of Orlando, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and infant son, Gregory Scott Cleckner.
A graveside service with full military honors will be presented at 2:15 PM on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, FL.
