Andrew Ballingall Wood was born in Hempstead Long Island, New York in 1924. At 17 he entered the Navy for 7 years where he served on board the USS Missouri. He worked for the Long Island Lighting Company in Hicksville, NY for 25 years as a Tester. He met and married his Scottish wife Jessie in Scotland to whom he was married for 44 years. After he retired, he moved them back to Scotland where they resided in Alford, Scotland until Jessie’s death October 2010 at which time Andrew moved back to America to be with his family. He was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge and is survived by two sisters in Largo, Florida (America) Elizabeth Spataro and Annie Wood along with several nieces and nephews.
