So sad to hear of Uncle Howard’s passing. Hard to believe another Smith brother is absent from this world. Love and prayers to everyone.
Did not know Howard but I am a pastor in WV serving under his brother Dr. Mervin Smith. If Howard is anything like his brother we have lose a great man. Thank you for your commitment in keeping our country safe. To all the family members who are left behind, “Our lost today is heavens gain.” In our prayers.
I served 3 years with Howard in New Jersey and another 3 years in Germany. Howard over the past 15 years has visited with me and my family on numerous occassions, usually on his way from Flordia to WV. We call each other a couple of times monthly over the years, his calls will be missed. Our condolences to the family.

I’m very sad I didn’t get a chance to pay my last condolence to my dad.It was about a month after his passing I was notified. Howard wasn’t my biological father but was the only dad I knew and I will always consider him my father. I thank him for raising me till I was 13 and teaching me how to be a man, with disipline, integrity, and honor. I wish I could have been more in his life. God Bless Pops.
