William G. Alboth, 86, of Tampa, FL, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Melech Hospice House, Temple Terrace under the care of LifePath Hospice.
William moved here from his native Milwaukee, WI in 1958. He retired as an electronic repairman for Sears after more than 20 years of service. He was an Army Air Force veteran of WWII and served in the Air Force until 1950. He served in the Philippines, in the Arctic, and was involved in the Berlin Airlift. He attended Seminole Presbyterian Church in Tampa. He was a musician and a model airplane builder, instructor and flyer.
William was preceded in death by his son, William K. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruth.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 PM on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Seminole Presbyterian) 5301 N. Central Avenue, Tampa, FL 33603. Graveside services with honors presented at 1 PM on Friday, June 1st at Florida National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Melech Hospice House or St. Joseph Hospital Foundation of Tampa.

My dear Uncle Bill was so precious to me. I remember him driving into the back yard on 28th St. in Milwaukee on his big Harley Davidson. I was just alittle girl and he was so handsome and dashing. In my adult life, we shared love of music and motors. I feel so fortunate to have had this caring, giving, creative uncle. Much, much love.
Uncle Bill was an amazing person. There was so much to him – his work ethic, his skill with model airplanes, his music, his love and dedication to my wonderful Aunt. He was truly a good man who we will miss dearly. Rest in peace Uncle Bill – love you!

He was our anchor in the Sheriff’s Band and a fine clarinet player in the Tampa Community Band. Despite arms full of saxes and music, he always told me “hand me a drum, I can carry it in”. Many times we would arrive first for a gig, and sit and talk to pass the time, he was a great friend and a fine musician. Cherryl Marlan
Sorry to ear that Bill has left us. He was trully a lovely man. we always could depend on him to be there when we had concerts. etc. I was never the greatest Trombon a goood sax player.e player, but he always would tell me how “good” I played whether I did or not. He was an encourager, friend & he will be greatly missed.

Bill was a fellow RC modeler friend of mine for 24 years. He was always a friendly and helpful gentlemean. His model aircraft were always of the highest craftsmanship. His love of early aviation was a passopn, as well as his love of music.
I will miss him… a lot.

I am so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. Although it has been many years since we last spoke, I’ll always remember his kind words and his love of music and the same old aircraft that I’m fond of. He was a friend to all and I know he lived his life in keeping with what Jesus taught: to love one another.
