Michael William Farrington was born on November 26, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Herbert L. and Frances Marie Farrington. He was the oldest of nine siblings.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother James, and brother Herbert “Buddy” L. Farrington III who died in 1967 while serving in Vietnam.
Michael is survived by his wife Nancy, whom he was married to for 35 years. He is also survived by his children Michael, Renee Wentz, and Brennan; grandchildren Peter Wentz, Caroline and Evelyn Farrington; siblings Mary Ellen Logue, Dolores “Lorry” Bockhorn, Catherine “Candy” Riccardi, John Farrington all of New Jersey and Joseph Farrington and Francis Farrington both of Pennsylvania; and several loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Michael enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1963 and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga as a Damage Controlman Third Class. He was honorably discharged in 1966.
Mike became a skilled electrician in the Philadelphia area and then moved to the west coast of Florida in 1989. He retired from his position as an electrical inspector for Pinellas County Florida in March 2011. Mike’s interests outside of work included science fiction, space science, reading, and taking vacation cruises. Mike enjoyed an adventurous and successful life.
He passed away at his home in Seminole, Florida on October 18, 2012. His remains will be buried at sea during a ceremony aboard a Naval vessel deployed on an official maneuver. Michael is fondly remembered and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

While I did not know Mr. Farrington personally, I work with Brennan. I know from Brennan’s hard work, dedication, and commitment in everything he accomplishes, Mr. Farrington must have been a wonderful father, teacher and friend.

I wish to express my condolences to Mike’s wife and family. I worked with Mike as an Electrician at the County and was proud to call him a fellow Electrician and friend.

Dear Mike, I have many, many wonderful memories growing up with you as my older brother. Standing in the hallway waiting for our turn to get a bath with Dad washing and Mom drying us and getting our jammies on. All of the Christmas’s waking up Dad to see if Santa had come yet. You were always in charge of that because you were the oldest. Your teen years were pretty tough as the “experimental child” but you broke the ice for the rest of their 8 children. Thank God you meet Nancy and had the good sense to marry her.
I will miss you immensley and will be ever greatful I had you for a big brother. Loves ua.
