Hugh M. Manley, 95, of Plant City, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at The Hawthorne Inn in Winter Haven, FL. He was born in Huntsville, AL, and moved to this area in 1987 from Birmingham, AL.
He was a veteran of World War II who served his country in the Army Air Corps. He was a purchasing manager for a manufacturer of steel buildings. Hugh was a member of the First Baptist Church in Plant City and the Elks. He was a man who loved God, loved to golf, and discuss politics. He enjoyed building clocks and to paint on wood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alba and Tula Mae Manley. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his sons, Hugh Manley, Gary Simms, and Clay Manley; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He will be buried at Florida National Cemetery on Thursday, December 27, 2012, with military honors.

My parents were good friends with Hugh and his wife Elizabeth when they lived in Huntsville, Alabama. I am not sure how they met but I remember them from my childhood. They were very nice people.
