Ora Lee Potter, 78, of Perryville, MD funeral service is 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Bethel AME Church, 196 North Main Street, Port Deposit, MD 21904 with Reverend R. Kevin Brown, Sr. and the United States Army Military Honors Team, to officiate. The family will recieve friends at the church from 10:30 Am until service time. The burial will take place at Garrison Forest State Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117 at 11:30 AM, Friday, January 11, 2013 with Reverend R. Kevin Brown, Sr., to officiate.
A native of Crisfield, MD and a local Perrysville, MD resident, Ora retired as an equipment operator for the Harford County Division of Highways in 1999 and he was a member of Bethel AME Church and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving our nation from 1954 thru 1956.
Predeceased in death by his parents, Littleton and Nettie (Turpin) Potter. Ora leaves to cherish his memories and love, his family: daughters; Patricia Taylor and her husband, Reginald of Montgomery, Alabama; Audrey Potter of Havre De Grace, MD; Whitney Potter of Port Deposit, MD and Judy Potter-Brown and her husband, Gerald of Havre De Grace, MD; a brother, James Hawkins of Philadelphia, PA; step daughter, Lisa Foran and her husband, Ryan of North East, MD; four sisters; Marcelline Gumby of Salisbury, MD; Audrey Simpson of Aberdeen, MD; Marie Ballard of Aberdeen, MD and Odessa Galimore of Edgewood, MD; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss! Lee was a good friend and he talked of you all with love! He told me many stories of his grandchildren and how they were all special and unique and this is what I found so wonderful about Mr Lee! I worked with him at Upper Bay and will never forget him! He loved all you kids and he always told me that’s what important Wanda! Family was his life and he will be remembered in all your hearts and in mine! He is with God now and I know he is looking after you all!
