Norman Earl Sanders, 76, of Winter Haven, FL, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa, FL.
Norm was born August 16, 1936, to Truman and Mildred (Simons) Sanders, in Carroll County, Indiana.
Norman served his country in the US Army with honor until 1962 and the Army Reserve until 1965 earning the rank of Sergeant. He worked at Sears Roebuck & Co until retiring to Florida wher he enjoyed fishing. He was an avid Hamm Radio operator with the call letters W9FNK and loved dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Rita (Corbin) Sanders, a daughter, Kelly (Sanders) Allhands of Burlington, KY, a step-son, Matthew Yount of Danville, IL and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Janice (Yount) Sanders of Danville.
A Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Friday, March 1, 2013 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 130 No. Walnut Street, Danville www.stpauldanville.org. Graveside services with military honors will follow at 11:00 AM at Danville National Cemetery, 1900 East Main Street, Danville, Illinois 61832.
