I was so sorry to see “Stubby’s” obituary in the paper. Stub grew up with us “Pendexter” girls and spent many hours at our house. One fond memory was when Stub was going to get his driving licence and was preparing for his test, he asked Mom to help him so they sat at our kitchen table and Mom prepared to ask him the questions. The first question he paused and said” I’ll be damned if you know, I dont” The next question mom got the same answer from him, she said “Stubby”, it apears to me that you have not studied for this test, you go home and study and then I will ask you again, He went home studied, came back mom quised him agaim. He went and took his test and passed it. Another memory I have is Stub sitting with us girls while Mom went to her lodge meeting. He said “Girls, do you want some popcorn?”, of course we did so he got out the popcorn basket, put the corn in and shook it over the wood stove. After it popped. he poured melted butter on it and shook the “pepper” on it, we all said you are suppose to put salt on it!” He laughed and said “Eat it anyway, we can’t waste it kids!!!” I send my sympathy to all of the family and pray you are blessed with many wonderful memories as we all are. God be with you all and Rest In Peace dear friend.
Hi Janet and family,
My deepest sympathies on Stub’s passing. I don’t know if you remember me but I am Bob and Sandra Andrews’ daughter, Kelley. It has been many years
and I still check out your old home in North Windham every time I drive by. I remember when I was younger, I was given 2 rabbits and ultimately they do what rabbits do and we needed to do something with them and so they came to live with your family, so long as Stub was not going to eat them. I remember playing with your kids Carl and Lynn. Stay safe and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Kelley Andrews Haubois
So sorry to hear of Stub’s passing. I am happy that I saw him last at the Fryeburg Fair, enjoying the races with his family.
I have just heard the news of Stubby passing. My prayers and thoughts are with you. If you need anything Janet, call me at anytime. Love to you and your family.
