Constance Chidley

Veterans Funeral Care Constance Chidley

Constance Ann Chidley was born on March 15, 1916 and passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 6, 2013.

Connie was born in Boston, Massachusetts, growing up and living in the Littleton area. At the age of 21 she married Thomas J. Chidley on October 12, 1937 and they had three children. In their retirement years, Connie and Tom moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida.

Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her daughters, Constance and her husband, Theodore Davis, and Mary Jane and her husband, Tommie Carter, her sister, Shirley, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and the many friends she made along the way. Though many in number every member of Nana’s family was special and she loved each one of them.  Connie was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy, her father Robert, her loving husband Thomas, her son Robert, her six sisters, her only brother and many other close family members and friends.

Her 96 years were filled with the love of her ever growing family and her many long time friends. She was a world traveler who never missed an opportunity to celebrate life. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially knitting. Her handmade gifts wrapped many of the family’s new members and comforted many of the older ones. Connie was a smart and talented woman who daily solved every crossword puzzle in the newspaper. Her greatest pleasures were not in her own accomplishments, but in watching each of her family members find their own success.

The family wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to the members of the Stonehedge Retirement Community, in Tarpon Springs, Florida for circling around her after the death of her husband. You made her feel special and even crowned her with a Red Hat.

So now faith, hope and love abide these three: the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

A funeral mass and burial will take place in Massachusetts in the summer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Constance’s memory be made to LifePath Hospice.
