Stefan “Steve” Gasparovic. 91, of Seminole, FL peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 surrounded by his children and devoted wife.
He was one of 10 children born to Rosalie (Popovich) and Emerick Gasparovic in Akron, Ohio. Steve served proudly during WW2 in the Coast Guard where his fleet, at one period, was transferred by the President to the Department of the Navy. After serving, he graduated from the University of Detroit and was employed for 32 years with Social Security Administration. He married Polly (Pauline Zieschang) Carter in 1964, and together they raised 6 children.
After retirement they moved to Venice, Florida in 1989. He enjoyed his life filled with family, friends, ballet, opera, travel, and most importantly, time with “The love of his life.” In 2012 they moved closer to their son and daughter-in-law in Seminole, Florida.
He is survived by his wife Polly; his six loving sons, daughters and their spouses: Shayne Carter, TX; Catherine (Ken) Murray, Greenville, SC; Michael (Barbara) Carter, Seminole, FL; Charles (Maria de Abajo) Gasparovic, Gijon, Spain; Anita (Michael) Fick, Saginaw, MI; Carolyn (Tom) Rainbolt, Greeley, CO; three sisters: Helen Horkey, MI; Millie Winemiller, OH; and Frances Joseph, CA. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be at held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, FL.

I so sad about this, this was my second family! I woke up with them on my mind today and so hurt to see this so late in the months. This family will always be special to me. I love and will miss you Steve . and to Mama Polly I will be seeing you soon!! Tears!! :-(
