William Harold Cook, 85, of Palm Harbor, went to be with our Lord on Friday, June 28, 2013.
Born in Maben, WV to William E. and Rosie Cook on November 26, 1927, he proudly servied in the US Navy from 1945 to 1946. He then joined the US Air Force in 1951 and retired in 1970 as a vehicle operations supervisor earning the rank of Technical Sergeant. He served in three wars: WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. During his military service he was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal, two Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, UN Service Medal, Longevity Service Award with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Outstanding Unit Award, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Air Force Commendation Medal. He was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneer and Ray’s fan, a great fisherman, and loved to travel.
Survivors include his sister, Margaret H. (Shirley L.) Shrewsbury, of Clearwater, FL; brother, E. Clayton (Georgia) Cook of Inverness, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10:30 AM followed by services at 11 AM on Monday, July 8th at Countryside Baptist Church, 2525 N. McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater. Interment with military honors will be at 1:30 PM at Bay Pines National Cemetery.

It was a pleasure meeting Harold a few times at functions at his sisters house.Always pleasant to talk with.Quite an accomplished man serving our country which we appreciate so much.God bless him and may he rest in peace.
