John J. Harrison, Jr. passed away on July 13, 2013 under the care of James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513. Full military honors will be preformed by the United States Marine Corps, Detachment #708.
John was born on June 26, 1960 in Washington, DC to John & Mary Harrison. He served in the United States Marine Corps from January, 1979 thru to January, 1983 as an AntiTank Assultman. He was awarded the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the Humanitarian Service Medal. After his discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps, he worked in the construction field as a carpenter and was of the Baptist faith.
John is survived by his parents: John J. & Mary Virginia (Tedder) Harrison of Tarpon Springs, FL; a sister, Tina Bean & husband, Robert of Holiday, FL; two nephews, Raymond A. Spackman & Jeremy Michael Spackman and a niece, Kayla Marie Sizemore.
