Paul Patrick Kelly, SGT-United States Marine Corps-Korean War Veteran funeral service 11:00 AM, Friday, October 18, 2013 at St John’s Catholic Church, 445 82nd Avenue, St Pete Beach, Florida 33706 with Father James Blum, to officiate. The United States Marine Corps, Detachment # 54 will provide military honors and SGT/Major David Mallory will play taps at the graveside service at 3:00 pm at Sarasota National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until service time.
A native of New York City, NY and a local resident since 1975, when he moved here from Maywood, New Jersey; he was the former owner of Paul Kelly Landscaping; a member of the St John’s Catholic Church and a United States Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Korean War. He served his country in Korea and was awarded a Korean Service Medal with 1 star and a United Nation Service Medal. He served in combat against the enemy, was a radio operator and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
He is survived by his loving family: his sons, Paul K. Kelly and his wife, Jeanne of Rochester, New York and Patrick L. Kelly of Hackensack, New Jersey; his daughters; Marilyn Roher-Dennis and her husband, Kerven of Tampa, Florida and Dawn D’Ambrosio and her husband, Nicholas of Wayne, New Jersey; a brother, Timothy Kelly of Pawling, New York; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
