Donald L. Torres, 68, of Bradenton, Florida funeral service is 2:00 PM, Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida 34241 with the Kirby Stewart American Legion Post providing full military honors. Burial will take place in the cemetery following the service.
A native of Chicago, Illlinois and a local resident since 1978, when he moved here from Huntington, West Virginia; he was a tile salesman; a Christian that attended the Assembly of God Church; a member of the American Legion; a Veteran of the Vietnam War Era and he was a “SKY SOILDER” that served with the “189th Ghost Riders” of the US Army.
He is survived by his daughter, Natalie M. Torres of Port Charlotte, Florida; his mother, Betty Whobrey of Arcadia, Florida and two grandchildren.
