IN CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Galatians 2:19-20 I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.
It was early in the morning of December 6, 2014 at the age of 86 that the Reverend Edward Gene Williams left this life in Daytona Beach, Fl to make his entry into “Eternal Life”.
Pastor Williams was born on July 21, 1928 In St Augustine Florida. He served his country in the Korean War as a Gunner Mate with the United States Navy. For over 38 years he was an ordained minister of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and served as pastor at the McGlon P.H. Church in Seville, Fl, Victory Hill P.H. Church, Altha, FL, Bethel P.H. Church, Gainesville, Fl and Destiny P.H. Church of Daytona Beach, FL.
In the years following the service to his country, “Gene” worked at the Daytona Sea Zoo as an alligator wrestler as well as a marine animal trainer and guide. At other times he lived in the Everglades of south Florida and enjoyed many airboat adventures with his brother J.J. Williams hunting alligators and frogs. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and the church family.
It was evident that the Ministry. serving the Lord and all the people he came into contact with became his “passion and full purpose in life”. He loved sharing the Good News (Gospel of Jesus Christ) everywhere he went. He never met a stranger and always wanted you to know that “JESUS LOVES YOU”. Over the years, many people can testify of the impact that he made on their lives.
Reverend “Gene” Williams was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother and friend to all. He loved his Family as well as the Family of God.
Gene is survived by his wife of 59 years Patricia Williams his Sister Rudy Cowart of West Palm Beach, FL, Children Joe Williams and his wife Merida of Edgewater, Fl , Donna Day of Gainesville, FL and Laura Green and her husband John of Alachua, FL.
He was predeceased by his father, mother, brothers Joseph “J.J.” Williams, Robert “Red” Williams and a sister Mabel Meade.
His grandchildren include David White, Tiffany White Rebecca Costa, Joseph Williams, Kristen Hall, Kevin Hall, Kimberly Hall, Joshua Green, Heather Green. Great grandchildren include Ashton Hall, Kayley Hall, Kayden Hall, Michael White, Grace Costa and Hope Costa. He is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews. that loved him very much.

Our lives were forever changed the day we met you and for that I am so thankful. You and Sister Pat have loved us and taught so much. We will miss your visits and all the stories and prayers. Much love dad until we meet again.
May God comfort your hearts in knowing that Pastor Williams has finally made it to his heavenly home. Memories are precious and to be absent from this body is to be present with Jesus. Lives have been changed because he cared for humanity and wanted to serve God first, His country and his family. We will miss you so much.

Who will say to me daily “Did you have a good day”, who will say continually “Did you know that Jesus Loves You” who will ask all my friends and acquaintances if they are “Saved and know Jesus” and follow through with introducing them to Him?
There are those who appear to be one way in front of the public and another way when alone. As Gene’s sister-in-law and having lived with Gene and Patricia for the past 12 years I can attest to the fact that Gene was genuine and lived what he preached. He was truly a man of God. It has been a joy to be such a close part of the last years of his life. Gene we will miss you dearly, but we know that you have truly reached your destiny. I thank and love you for being a kind caring brother-in-law and friend to me.
To my sister Patricia – I know that you will miss your time of daily devotions with your life mate, your prayer partner for the family and all that requested prayer, the constant expression of love from your beloved Gene, the caring covering that he always gave you however, because we are not without hope as some, I know you as a woman faith will continue to rely on the Lord to sustain and keep you.

My family &hi send our condolence to you sister Williams, we all loved that man, he pulled me though a real bad time when my son Mike Spencer was killed, he was a true man of god, my prayers r with the family, so sorry, Betty Spencer and family
Our Grandpa was incredible. He always knew how to make anyone smile. He taught us good values and to love Jesus. We will miss playing cards with him; he always tried to pull a fast one. We will miss the way that he salted everything excessively and ate all of the corn casserole. We will also miss the way he cared for and loved us. He made every memory special: from being willing to catch a baby alligator for Rebecca to pet to the guys telling stories around the campfire with Grandpa at the hunting camp. We never had a dull moment, and we always had fun. We love our Grandpa and Grandma so much. They have always let us know how proud they are of us.
And we are both so proud to be one of theirs. We love you always! Your Joseph & Rebecca
brother williams was a devoted man to his lord his church family friends he helped me get grounded in the lord he taught me more then i could put on paper.i have always loved him & sister williams & we still do have them in our hearts forever.didn’t get to see them much when they moved away but was in our hearts.i know he is in heaven as he earned a crown of fine jewels.
