From an Army Vet to a Navy Vet, a toast:
“Fair winds and following seas”.
Please accept my condolences. Chief Vreeman was my Chief while stationed onboard the USS HUE CITY. During that time, he was the one person that gave me hope and taught me the power of a Chief. Also, he taught me that a leader must take risk on a person in order to gain trust from that person. Needless to say, he took a big risk on me and I trusted him. He was and is the reason I stayed Navy and wear the anchor of a Chief. I am blessed and humbled to have served by his side. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Sincerely,
Jeff Salazar

Dad, there isn’t a day that goes by that you don’t cross my mind. I miss you more and more as time passes. I want you to know that I love you with all my heart. Thank you for teaching me everything that you did, you will forever be in our hearts and you live on through us.
I had the pleasure of serving with Garry on board USS KITTY HAWK (CV-63). We had a personnel office full of young and hilarious personalities. I was looking up old shipmates and I am shocked to hear of Garry’s passing. I am so sorry for your loss.
