John Charles Gold, 77, of Bradenton, FL passed peacefully at Blake Medical Center at 11:30 pm on January 19, 2015.
John Charles Gold is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eileen Gold; his three children: Linda, John and Nancy, all of Bradenton along with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His parents Susan D. Gold and John Gold Sr. precede him in death.
John was an only child born on November 27, 1937 in New York City. He married his lovely wife Eileen Casey in May of 1960 after moving to St. Petersburg, Florida. John served in the US Army honorably from October 1955 to March of 1958 and was called back in to service from May 1960 until April 1963. The couple welcomed three children Linda, John and Nancy into their growing family. His wife and children remember him as a devoted husband and dedicated father who was kind and generous.
John was an accomplished business man in the insurance industry as an educator. For over 30 years he built a successful insurance education and training company called JEL Publishing which was headquartered in Greenville, SC since 1986. The company was then moved to Bradenton, FL in 2009. John was a man who quietly helped others in need and never sought recognition.
A Memorial Service will be at 2 pm on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Happy Gospel Church, 1915 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203 with a reception to follow at the home of Nancy & Lyle Wilson. Pastor John Lowery will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate John’s life. Condolences and flowers can be sent to Eileen Gold at 5607 Whistling Tree Lane, Bradenton, FL 34203.
The family would like to thank The Bay Pines VA Health Care System and the ICU team at Blake Medical Center for their efforts, dedication and care.
Dear Gold Family: I am so sorry to have read of your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28,29 and Revelation 21:4. These verses tell us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our loved ones as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering, including sickness and death. Knowing this has always comforted me and it is my hope that these thoughts will comfort your family also.
When I think of the definition of a family man, Uncle John is top of the list. He believed in keeping his family close and supported his children in all their endeavors. This is his legacy and will help his family and friends endure during this time of sadness . My sincere condolences to you all. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Aunt Eileen and all the Golds, I was saddened when I heard of the passing of Uncle John. He was such a gregarious, fun-loving guy. Every time I picture him it is with a big bright smile. I know we will all miss him, but thank God we have that blessed assurance that we know in our heart of hearts that he is with Jesus in heaven. I’m sure we will all see him again. With much love, Mick
