Byrd, Marty, born November 4, 1919, 95 years young. Marty played his last round of golf and winning gin hand February 7, 2015. As a young man, he was a semi-pro baseball player and then was drafted by the US Army. As a business owner, a generation of children were raised in the feeding table called the “Baby Butler”. He loved his golf and mastering of the sport were always a inspiration to those around him.
He leaves behind his wife, Flora “Flip” LeClair and their beloved dog, Angel; daughter, Donna Berman (Robert) and son, Doug (Sue); six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was a man who made the most of each day, lived it to the fullest at full speed ahead and says he’ll see everyone at the ninth hole.

Marty,I sure am going to miss you coming over for dinner and watching the ball games at our house. You were a very interesting man with a lot of knowledge about a lot of things. Being a Baseball player to playing a great game of golf.
You had a heart of gold and always loved all the animals of the world. You were a Loving Husband and Caring partner to Flip. She misses you,but she will always know just how much love the two of you had for each other.
Heaven is getting a great man and a great person.

Marty was my hero. Playin golf 3 and 4 times a week. Always a smile.He was athletic
and quick-witted at 95. I thought he would live forever. I’m gonna miss him.

Where do you start, You and Flip have been the dearest friends to us and we have shared so many things together. I know we moved away but you were in our thoughts every day. On our very Cold days we would look at the weather in Florida and say, I Bet Marty is on the Golf Course, wish we were there!! Now you don’t have to worry about weather, you have your wings and can play all you want to. God Bless Marty and save a game for us. WE Love You and will always be there for Flip and little Angel!!

Marty will be missed. He was a kind and gentle man who had so much wisdom. I will remember him as a man who lived life to the fullest, enjoying Golf, cards and friends. I’m very sorry for your loss and pray for comfort in this time of need.
