William S. Hart “Pete/Bill”, 87, former longtime resident of Hillside, NJ and Pinellas Park, FL, entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2015. Predeceased by his wife, Virginia “Ginny”; two sons, Ronnie and David Hart; mother, Mary Volpe, and father Richard Lee Hart. Survivors include his daughter, Christina Smith of Savannah, GA; three grandchildren, Andrea (Phil) Nemirow of Rhode Island, Faith (Shawn) Flippo of Virginia and Elizabeth Dunn of Florida; three great grandchildren and a niece, Diane Nichols.
Pete served in the Merchant Marines and U.S. Army during the occupation of Germany in WWII. Honorably discharged in 1947, he later worked as a machinist and then owned several gas stations/foreign car mechanic in the surrounding area of Edison. He semi retired at 71 working part-time delivering radiators around the area and finally retiring at 76 and moving to Florida in 2005. Pete was a member of the American Legion Post 63, Bound Brook, NJ and Post 273 Madeira Beach, FL, The Free Masons Lodge 11 and the Germaine Club #128 in Livingston. Pete, or better known as “Pop Pop” to his grandkids, always had a funny story, knew a lot about life and shared so many true sayings he would make up for the occasion. Pete was also a gun enthusiast most of his life.
