John William Austin

John William Austin, 70, MSG-US Army-Retired of Port Richey, Florida died on February 15, 2015.  His service is 12:45 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, Florida with Full Military Honors by the United States Army Funeral Honors Team and the Pinellas County Honor Guard.

Born on June 21, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a local resident since 1993, when he moved here from Fort Meade, Maryland, he was a retired Criminal Investigator for the US Army Criminal Investigation Department; a Christian and a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

MSG Austin awards and decorations are the National Defense Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Bronze Star Medal; Army Service Ribbon; US Army Commendation Medal (5th Oak Leaf Cluster); Meritorious Service Medal; NCO Professional Development Ribbon ( 3 Oak Leaf Clusters); Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm (Unit Citation); Meritorious Unit Commendation; Humanitarian Service Medal; Overseas Service Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters):  Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; US Army Achievement Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters) and the Good Conduct Medal (7th Award).

He is survived by his wife, Somluk Austin of Port Richey, Florida; a brother, Richard Austin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a sister, Jayne Austin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
