Kenneth E. Markle, 73, of Lake Wales, FL, died Friday, May 1, 2015 at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida following a long illness.
Ken was born in Akron, Ohio to Elmer K. Markle and Guila (Kinman) Markle. After graduating from Lake High School, Ken enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Korea and returned to the Akron area after his discharge. After working in the banking business for many years, Ken moved to Lake Wales, Florida where he worked in car sales until his retirement seven years ago.
Ken is survived by his two sons, Richard (Kim) Markle of Arizona and Michael Markle of Cape Coral, Florida; sister Carol Stringer of Ohio; brother, Timothy of Florida; four grandchildren, Samantha, Ethan and Jacob Markle of Arizona, and Brendon and Hannah Markle of Florida. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, Renee Statham and Christine Bauer, and his best friend and “Buddy”, Gale Coldwell.
There will be an informal gathering of family and friends on Saturday, May 9th from 4:00 p.m. To 7:00 p.m. at 936 Devonshire Way, Lake Wales, Florida.
