Leticia Policarpio Routt


ROUTT, Leticia Policarpio – A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1955 So. Belcher Road, Clearwater, FL 33764 with Father Charles Leke, celebrant.  Burial will follow at 12:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102 Avenue, Bushnell 33513.

Known to her friends as Letty, she currently resides in Clearwater, FL with her husband, Melvin W. Routt. She was born August 1, 1936 in Bacolod City, Visayas Islands, Philippines. Her children and their spouses reside in the Philippines: twin daughters, Lorraine Dungog, husband, Arman; Rosalie Calo; four sons: Florentino dela Pena and wife, Tita; Alvin dela Pena; Rene dela Pena and wife, Lovell; Antonio dela Pena; Step-daughter, Katherine Hanrahan and husband, Patrick in Talent, Oregon and Step-son, Kristofer Erston Routt of Safety Harbor, Florida and ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Letty was a member of St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church of Largo; a member of the Clearwater Cursillo and participates in the Tampa Bay Area Focolare. She retains her membership in the Catholic Women’s League of Davao City, Philippines and she also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul food kitchen.

Mrs. Routt holds a Masters of Arts in Education with majors in Administration and Supervision; also a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, both degrees from the University of Mindanao, Davao City, Philippines. She also has an Associate in Arts in Rizal Memorial College also of Davao City, Philippines. She completed high school at Iloilo City College in Iloilo City. She also was a Certified Nursing Aid obtained at St Anthony Continuing Care Center, Rock Island, Illinois, USA.

Letty retired from teaching after 25 years in the Philippines Public School System. During her teaching career there she served with the Magallanes Elementary School as a teacher, Guidance Coordinator and Assistant to the principle. She also served eight years as a Part Time Professor in the University of Mindanao. She also worked as a teaching assistant for UPARC and is formerly a teacher with Skycrest United Methodist Church Development Center, both in Clearwater, Florida.
