Walter B. Carrington, 68, of Blacklick, OH died October 20, 2015 at The Rehabilitation and Health Center in Gahanna, OH. He was born April 16, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA. He enjoyed living in Florida but returned to Ohio to be with his family before he died.
Walter retired from the Air Force in 1987 and received, among other decorations, the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Humanitarian Service Medal. After he retired, Walter loved his work at the Grenelefe Golf Course as the head groundskeeper. He was also a Baptist and attended the Gulf Coast Baptist Church where he received Christ.
He is survived by his only son Michael Carrington of Blacklick, OH; sisters Penny Gwynn of Tampa, Florida, Bonnie Smith of Pittsburgh, PA and Debbie Lauderbaugh of Pittsburgh, PA. He had one granddaughter, Briana Carrington of Blacklick, OH.
Graveside services will be held November 2, 2015 at 2:30 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery with full military honors. Friends and family are invited to share a memory and sign his guestbook below.
