Mary “Eleanor” Easton, 95, of St. Petersburg, FL passed peacefully in her home into the loving arms of her Savior on Sunday, January 24, 2016.
Born in Newborn, GA, she came here at the age of 2. She was married to Alex Easton for 60 years, and they owned George Easton Furniture Co.
Her greatest treasures were Jesus, her late husband, and their family. She was a mighty woman of God who loved people, especially children. She showed that love through her interest in their lives, a contagious smile and a quick wink. At First Baptist, she led the Children’s Bus Ministry, taught Sunday School and Training Union. When her children were grown, she was active in Suncoast Cathedral. In her senior years, she thrived under the leadership of Pastor Helms, Pastor Roger, and her Prime Timers’ group at Glad Tidings. She served children and the community through Child Evangelism, Brownies, PTA, and Woman’s Service League.
She is survived by her eight daughters: Marianne Easton, Martha King, Carolyn Anderson, Connie White, Patricia Cothron, Pam Llewellyn, Alexis Knox, and Alicia Slatton; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 4200 17th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710.

My dear Easton family,
All who knew her loved your mother. She always made me feel welcome in her home. In my youth she often had me stay for dinner, even though she had a large family to feed. When I would ask for another helping of her sweet potatoes topped with lightly browned marshmallows, she would smile, give me a wink, and passed the casserole my way. I thought it was the best vegetable I had ever eaten.
She allowed sleepovers too! There just always seemed to be room for one more. What fun I had with you Connie.
Eleanor had a sparkle in her eyes never seemed to fade. Her kindness was radiant. Her love for Christ Jesus beamed from within. I will remember your mother always, and hold her dear to my heart.
May the void left in your hearts by her passing be filled with loving memories of your dear mother, and love for each other.
With love to all,
Mary Bahmiller
