Robert John Lonergan, Sr.

Robert Lonergan, Sr., 86, of Pinellas Park, FL completed a lifetime of service on Wednesday, February 3, 2016.

Bob was retired from the Erie Lackawanna Railroad and Pinellas County Government.  He served his country in the Army during World War II and Korea then later served his fellow veterans as a lifelong member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He served as a founding member of the Lealman Community Emergency Response Team and was a longtime member of St. Giles Church.

He is survived by his dear friend and companion, Suzanne Zeller; his children: James and Suzanne Lonergan of New Jersey; Eileen Farrar; Robert Lonergan both of Florida; Terry Ann and Thomas Wadleigh of North Carolina; brother, Richard of St. Petersburg, FL; six grandchildren: Brian Lonergan, Colleen Lonergan, Joseph Farrar, Thomas  Wadleigh, Jennifer and Nick Kelley; and three great grandchildren: James Farrar, Morgan Farrar and Andrew Wadleigh.

Family and friends will gather to remember Bob at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Giles Episcopal Church in Pinellas Park with a private interment ceremony at Bay Pines National Cemetery at a later date.

As Bob valued service his family requests that those who would be inclined to send flowers simply perform an anonymous, random act of kindness instead.
