Michael D. Stanton II-GYSGT-USMC


Michael Dale Stanton II-USMC-Retired Gy/Sgt. funeral service is 2:15 PM, Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, Florida with the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard and the Detachment 54 USMC Honor Guard, officiating.

A native of St Louis, Missouri, Gy/Sgt Stanton was born on January 27, 1963 and passed away on February 6, 2016 at Mease Hospital, Dunedin, Florida. Served in the United States Marine Corps for 18 years and retired because of a service connected disability. During his service time in the Marine Corps, Gy/Sgt Stanton was awarded a Combat Action Ribbon; Navy unit Commendation Medal with 2 devices; Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal with 1 device; Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with 1  device; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 3 devices; Kuwait Liberation Medal; Senior Explosive Ordnance Insignia; Rifle Expert Badge; Pistol Expert Medal with 2  devices; Air Force Achievement Medal; Meritorious Mast with 3 devices; Basic Electronics Course; Telephone Switch board Repair Course; Staff Non Commissioned Officers Career Non Residence Course; Ordnance Explosive Disposal Course; Basic Ordnance Explosive  Course; Advance Explosive Ordnance Bomb Disposal Refresher Surface Course; Breacher Course; Staff Non-Commissioned Officers Advance Course; Letter of Appreciation and Letter of Recognition.  The first part of Gy/Sgt Stanton Career was a Telephone Technician and later part of his career was a Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician. When Gy/Sgt attended the basic Explosive Ordnance Course at Eglin Air Force Base, his block tests and final examination scores were so high that his record has not been broken.

Predeceased in death by his father, Michael Dale Stanton Sr. and a brother,  Brian Stanton.   Gy/Sgt Stanton is survived by his loving family; his wife, Terri Stanton of Dunedin, Florida; his mother, Gloria Mueller of Wheatfield, Indiana and a brother, Timothy Stanton of Wheatfield, Indiana.     “SEMPER FI”
