David Alexander Mahurin, 66, of Tampa, passed away February 27, 2016.
David was born August 31, 1949 in Fresno, California, a son of the late Cecil Mahurin and Anna Yost Mahurin.
David served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in Washington, D.C. with the Department of Defense and for the I.R.S. Later he worked as the person (liason) responsible for traveling to a city ahead of the circus and making all of the arrangements for the circus. He also worked for Arrowhead Productions. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, computers, politics, and was an animal lover. He especially enjoyed his dog, Sara Lee.His family and friends remember him as a loving, caring, and generous man.
Besides his parents, David was preceded on death by one sister: Connie Maharin.
Survivors include his husband: Jack C. Erven of Tampa, one brother: Cecil Mahurin and his wife, Collette of Sacramento, California, one stepson: Sky Skog of Wisconsin, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society in David’s memory.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Peninsular Christian Church, 3600 W. Ballast Point Boulevard, Tampa, Florida 33611. Pastor Terry Byers will be officiating. A reception immediately following the service will be held at David and Jack’s home, 4713 W. Leila Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33616.
