Donald A. Voorhees, 70, passed away February 26, 2016 at the Bay Pines VA Health Care System under Hospice care.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 24, 1945 to Andrew and Goldie Voorhees. He graduated from Southside High School before entering the Marine Corps. He served from 1965 to 1968 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and two Good Conduct Medals. He moved to Pinellas County in 1969. Don worked at Montgomery Ward as an appliance technician for 20 years.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Janet Green and Loretta Dutill. He is survived by his two sons, Timothy (Brandi) of St. Petersburg and Theodore (Amanda) of Largo, FL; two brothers Russell and Thomas Voorhees of Pinellas Park, FL; three sisters, Goldie Voorhees of Pinellas Park, Lorraine Callahan of Trenton, FL and Doris Voorhees of Hudson, FL; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with full military honors will be presented at 10:45 AM on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, FL 33744.
