Nancy Melinda Chrichton Chappell, 74, of Tampa, FL passed away at the Largo Health and Rehabilitation Center in Largo, FL. She was born in Washington DC and moved to the Tampa Bay area in the early 1960’s from Lawrenceburg, TN.
Nancy was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Resurrection. She loved entertaining during the Christmas holidays, enjoyed Chinese food and the company of friends from church. She also was a volunteer with the PKU (Phenylketonuria) Support Group. Phenylketonuria is a rare inherited condition which can be treated with a low protein diet.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruby Crichton; her husband of nearly fifty years, Gary; and her son, Christopher Chappell. She is survived by her son Gregory Chappell of Tampa and his wife Moya; sisters, Margaret Crichton and Betty Beiro and her husband, Joseph; and two grandchildren.
She will be interred with her husband at Florida National Cemetery.
Nancy had a wonderful sense of humor and was great fun to be around. It’s her laugh I’ll remember most.
