Dr. William P. McPhilamy was born on March 25, 1925 to William P. McPhilamy Sr. and Eleanor Brown on Roanoke, Virginia. Dr. McPhilamy passed away on May 20, 2016 at Bay Pines VA Hospital in Bay Pines, Florida. Survivors include his wife Roxanne Harmon; children William Patrick McPhilamy, Edie McPhilamy (deceased), Mary Ellen McPhilamy, John McPhilamy Sr., Sean McPhilamy Sr., Joanne Brems, Kevin McPhilamy, Teresa McPhilamy, Charles McPhilamy and 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
William P. McPhilamy, Ph.D., LN, CAP, NCAC-11, ICADC, CDCH, Author, Lecturer and Faculty Mentor, was internationally recognized in the fields of “Nutrition & Addictions.” Dr. McPhilamy’s credentials reflect his leadership and vision as a Nutrition & Addictions Researcher, Educator and Consultant. Dr. McPhilamy was a “Licensed Nutritionist,” by the State of Florida Board of Medicine, Department of Health. He was also a “Healthcare Management Consultant.” Being “Board Certified in Addictions,” he was on the Board of Oral Evaluators of the Certification Board for Addiction Professional of Florida. He held “National & International Board Certifications in Addictions.” He also has a “Certified Diplomate in Hypnotherapy.” Dr. McPhilamy was involved in research as well as education related to Nutritional Biochemistry, Alcoholism and other Addictive Diseases, and Lifestyle Disorders. He lectured extensively, conducted seminars and workshops for numerous Fortune 1000, 500, 300, 100 companies and others throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Dr McPhilamy’s seminars also provided a contemporary framework with a broadened perspective and applicable focus relating to the study of “Stress, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), The Immune System and Healthcare.” Dr. McPhilamy, was a qualified professional he provided contractual services for the Administrative Office Of The United States Courts, Washington, D.C., the State of Florida Department of Corrections and the U.S. Military. He has also rendered professional services to other groups, concerning Clergy Pedophilia and related issues. As a pioneer in “Alternative, Complementary & Functional Nutrition Effective Non-Drug Solutions for Illnesses”, his fascinating work did represent a quantum leap in the most contemporary advances in his exciting field of endeavor. It was a true paradigm shift in action, and breaks through barriers to the “Process of Healing” with breathtaking clarity, while helping to consistently produce positive insights and outcomes. As a publisher for numerous articles, audiences praised his extensive knowledge, literary elegance of expression, humor, and abundance of the very practical information that he imparted. He was is in private practices in Jacksonville, Florida, and served in the capacity of Director for Healthquest Nutrition and Wellness formerly New Life Addictions Program, Inc.
A memorial services honoring the life of Dr. McPhilamy is scheduled for June 8, 2016 at 12:45 pm at Bay Pines National Cemetery with the Army providing military honors.
