Catherine Joyce Oothoudt , 84, passed away on August 13, 2016 at home with her loving family around.
Catherine was born on August 21, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of the late Joseph Jones and Dorothy Hayden Jones.
She was married to Darven W. Oothoudt on October 29, 1950 at a Justice of the Peace in Blue Earth, Minnesota. They lived in Winnebago, Minnesota until they moved to Texas with the United States Air Force. They then moved to Minnesota. Besides her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by one son: Patrick Oothoudt and one sister: Annie Walker.
Survivors include two sons: Thomas Oothoudt and his wife, Rose, of Colorado, and Timothy Oothoudt and his wife, April, of Alabama; five daughters: Catherine Kirby of Florida, Susan York of Florida, Karon Curtis and her husband, Richard, of Arkansas, Teresa Oothoudt and her fiance’, Scott Bradley, of Florida, and Rebecca Hinsch and her husband, Michael, of Florida, two brothers: William Jones and his wife, Connie, of Minnesota; and Michael Jones and his wife, Mary, of Idaho; one sister: Mary Jean Perry and her husband, Carlyle, of Minnesota, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
For the last seven years, she has lived with her daughter, Rebecca and her husband, Michael, her loving caretakers. Mom will truly be missed forever and a day!
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 9:00 A.M. at Florida National Cemetery.
We love you Mom and miss you greatly.
Will miss you the time we had together last year was the greatest.it will all ways have a place in our lives to remember the laughter with you. Love tom and rose.
Joyce wa a sweet lady, with a keen wit and a great laugh. We’ll mis her a lot.
My family will miss sweet Joyce as we have Darven. What a tremendous blessing they had been for my brother and his family. You can tell a lot about a person by the quality of their children and what a wonderful family they raised. Joyce’ strength is seen in her children and their love lives on through their children, grand children and great grand children. Until we can reunite, celebrate and laugh together again.
Rob and Wendy.
Proverbs 31, 25-29
Joyce was always such a sweetheart with a wonderful sense of humor. She was a very strong woman who went through many battles but always carried herself with class and grace. I will never forget you and we will miss you at our family get togethers.
To the family, my heart is breaking for you – we know how much you loved your Mom. Please lean on your faith and know that she is back together with the love of her life, dancing with the angels in Heaven.
With much love and sincere condolences.
Linda
Sorry for your loss. Teresa spoke a lot about her mom and we know she will be very missed by all of her family.
Our thoughts & prayers are with you and the family at this difficult time. We are so sorry for your loss. Joyce was a very special lady & will me missed greatly.
Joyce was a fantastic lady to be around. She was always full of laughter and kindness. I thoroughly enjoyed the time that I had with Joyce but sadly it wasn’t long enough. She will be greatly missed by me personally for all eternity. She and I had become very close over the years while my wife and I were her caregivers. It was extremely easy being her caregiver due to her being so very thoughtful and genuinely kind. I miss you so much mom and I’m sure I always will. I’ll never forget the laughs we had together, especially the time I made Flunder filet for dinner and she said it tasted like an old shoe. Joyce I love you and always will. Until we meet again. Love always forever and a day
Your son–in-law Michael Hinsch.

Your Mother, Your Angel

You look back on memories you forgot you had,
And at times you’ll smile even though it hurts so bad.
Your mother is a special woman and no one can take her place,
You’ll find a piece of mind when you remember he smiling face.
Your mother is an angel now she flies high above the rest,
and in your hearts always and forever she will be the best.
She has earned her wings and it’s time for her to fly,
I know it hurts no one is ever ready to say good-bye.
She knows you do not understand and that you cry at night,
But as you finally drift of to sleep let her memory hold you tight.
She will be your guardian angel through the rest of your life,
Helping lead you on the path between what’ wrong and right.
your mother loves you so very much and her love will always remain true,
Please don’t ever think for a second that your mother will forget you.
A mothers love is like no other in the whole world,
and she has the most wonderful memories of a little boy and girl.
She has taken them with her as she’s flown away,
Up to Heaven free of pain which is her new home to stay.
So although you can not see her and you wish she could be there,
Your mother can always hear you and your mother will always care.
A mother does not forget the two greatest loves of her life,
And she loved nothing more than being your mommy, and your daddy’s wife.
She is so proud of her family and that’s in her heart to stay,
Even though she’s and angel and has had to fly away.
So as you cry your tears remember your mothers love,
Being sent to you from her, from the beautiful Heaven above.
She will be there through your good times, she will be there through your bad,
She’ll be there when you are happy, she’ll be there when your sad.
Your mother has become and angel now, it is her time to fly,
And you will never know how bad it hurt me to watch you have to say good-bye.
Sending love and prayers to all of you kids. So grateful to have seen Sis and be able to spend time with her. Love Aunt TeeDee.
