Mrs. Mildred (Midge) Briggs was born in New York City, New York on April 25, 1923. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Massachusetts in 1946, with a Bachelor’s Degree in French. After graduation she moved to New York City and was employed by a French Relief Firm. This was followed by employment with the Institute of International Education and Time Inc. She retired from Time Inc. as secretary to the President in May 1961.
Mrs. Briggs, her husband Woody and son Douglas moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida in September, 1985. After several other moves in Florida they settled at Shell Point Village in Fort Myers Florida in 2004. She has been a member of the 9 Hole Women’s Golf Club, served as a volunteer at Shell Point Pavilion and a leader in Bible study groups.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Village Church in Shell Point onSeptember 10 at 2:15 PM.
