Shirley Wallace Shear, 90, of Tampa, Fl and also of Lakeland, Florida passed away at Villa’s Assisted Living Facility, Lutz, Florida on September 21, 2016 with three generations of family at her bedside when she went to be with the Lord.
Her funeral service is 11:00 am, Saturday, September 24, 2016, graveside, at the Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 US Highway 98 South, Lakeland, Florida 33812 with Reverend Bob Block, to officiate.
Born in Chicago, IL on October 7, 1925 to Clarence and Gladys (Hagan) Hubly. She retired from Florida Tile in Lakeland as a bookkeeper and she attended Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Lakeland.
Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Wallace, her daughter in-law Judy Wallace, and her second husband Leo Shear. Shirley is survived by her loving family: son, Robert Wallace of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren: Daryle “Dee Dee” Whitaker and her husband, Doc and Bobby Wallace Jr. and his wife, Alisa; daughter, Dianne Dent and her husband, Brad of Lutz, FL; grandchildren; Zack Dent and wife Kelly; Pam Norris and husband Griffin; Jenny Lindsey and husband, Ricky and Angela Brown and husband Denis: step-son, Bob Shear and his wife, Gina of Concord, OH; grandchildren: Aaron Shear and Olivia Shear and step daughter: Bobbi Shear of Lakeland, FL and grandchildren: Michael Slakman and Brian Slakman and his wife, Chrisi; twenty (20) great grandchildren.

To a loving and kind stepmom and grandma that always made our visits special, as we were always welcomed by all family but especially by this caring woman . Going down memory lane, Shirley loved my dad as he loved her and my dad lived a long healthy and happy life because of this Christian woman. We were always welcomed when we would visit and always had the bedroom set up with crib when kids were babies and made to feel that her home was our home . After my dad passed we seemed to loose touch but my sister would keep us apprised on Shirley’s health and family. I remember years ago when we walked with their special dogs through the cemetery and she showed us dad and her final resting place and how she was at peace with her surroundings and talked about her deep faith and this was a lesson for us about God and her faith and her living her daily life as a true Christian .
