Clark allowed me the time and space to be creative. He so enjoyed a good argument. He is the best of dreamers in a world just not ready for the beat of his drum.
Om mani padme om
Clark was a classmate of mine at Disston Junior High & Boca Ciega High School. He was always quiet in school. I did not get to know him until well after high school when he attended some alumni functions. He never mentioned he had served in the U.S. Navy. We had many good conversations. He was my friend and I as a an Army Veteran thank him for his service. THIS WE’LL DEFEND
My heart is saddened after reading the news about Clark today..I will always remember him as a good friend…My life was better for having known him, and I will cherish our times with good friends always..His views were quite unique in the way he saw the world, and he was a down to earth person.. I enjoyed conversations with him..good bye Ol friend..xoxo
Jack & Bea: So sorry to hear of the passing of your son, Clark. Our prayers are with you.
So sad to read of Clark Edward passing away October 18th 2016. In 1972 Clark became my friend after editing a newspaper article I wrote describing the BCHS riots. I visited annually with Clark starting about 2001. We planned another visit the month he passed….. Most people who knew Clark did not know that late in life he was recognized for his genius by the Hollywood movie industry. Through Internet postings in the steampunk genre, Clark became part of a Pinellas-based focus group, and was promoted to an editorial capacity. Clark’s life mat have passed, but a little of his intellectual DNA lives on dispersed among the scripts of science fiction cinema.####
I was surprised and saddened to hear of Clark’s death. We were good friends and had been so for many years. Clark was a very bright guy and we had many interesting conversations. He was involved in grass roots left wing politics as well as a subculture as alien to me as the Amish- the steampunk movement. Clark and I were both staunch atheist/rationalists and as such he would be amused by the prayers. But I’m sure we would be touched by the kind thoughts and would appreciate them.
RIP Clark, my good friend, my brother in reason. I will miss you old friend.
I will miss my Uncle Clark. He had an air of mystery and an expression of amusement. He was extremely private about his personal life which I completely respected. I was always just happy for the times I got to see him. He always seemed happy to see my family and me too, especially the kids. I am so thankful that through everyone’s wonderful comments I’ve been able to learn some very remarkable things about my Uncle. I really wish I could have talked to him about some of these things but I’m so glad that he had a strong circle of really wonderful friends. I love that he was able to be himself and to be loved for it by so many.
