Thomas L. Reed 75, of New Port Richey, Florida and formerly of Brewster, New York, died on February 13, 2017 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by two daughters; Sharon and Patricia and her husband Patrick Ciaccio; one son Christopher and his wife Brooke; two grandchildren Alexandra Ciaccio and Aydan Reed, one sister Mary Jane Young-Kerrigan, his niece Suzanne Schult who was like a third daughter and a large extended circle of family and lifelong friends. He was predeceased by his wife Connie of 43 years, his father Leo C. Reed, his mother Katherine and his brother Paul.
Tom worked as an electrician for IBEW Local 3 (formerly 501) for over 30 years after serving in the U.S. Air Force. Tom and Connie moved to New Port Richey in 2003. Tom was very active in his church both attending and teaching bible study classes. Tom was an avid reader and lifelong student with a zest for both learning and teaching others.
A visitation and service will be held on Wednesday, February 15,th at 9:30 a.m. at the Highest Praise Family Church, 1350 East Lake Road North, Tarpon Springs, FL. Burial to follow at 2 p.m.at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Donations can be made in Tom’s memory to the Gulfside Hospice & Pasco Palliative Care, 2061 Collier Parkway, Land O’Lakes, FL 34639.

Mr. Reed was a gentleman who stopped to help my family one night on the highway when we had an auto accident. Coincidentally thereafter, I had the good fortune of becoming friends with his lovely daughter, Sharon which meant that I also got to know her sweet Mom, Connie.
