lexander Eugene Chaisson was born on June 7, 1933 to Alexander and Marie (Healy) Chaisson in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He passed away on May 7, 2017 at his home in Woodbridge, Virginia surrounded by a grieving family.
Family
He was married to Anne (King) Chaisson of Sydney Mines, Cape Breton since 1958. The two lived in locations all over the country. Gene and Anne also served two tours of duty overseas when Anne worked at the U.S Embassies in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Singapore from 1987-1991. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne; son, Robert Chaisson; beloved daughter, Karen Chaisson; two fabulous grandchildren, Anthony Feiner; his very special princess, Briana (Feiner) Meraz; and a son-in-law, Max Meraz.
Military History and Decorations
Eugene retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of honorable service. At the time of his discharge Eugene was eligible to wear the Bronze Star Medal, the Air Medal, five Air Force Good Conduct Medals, and four Air Force Longevity Service Awards. The Air Medal was awarded for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight.
Services
A graveside service with honors provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard from Andrews Air Force Base is scheduled for Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Quantico National Cemetery. All guests planning on attending should arrive at Quantico National Cemetery no later than 12:40 pm.
