Stewart, Patti J. Macking, 54 of St. Petersburg, FL flew to meet her parents, a sister, and the Angels on Friday evening, May 5th, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Hospital.

Born in Sharon Conneticut she grew-up and lived in New York, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. For the past 21 years she has lived in St. Petersburg, FL.  She was baptized at St. Charles Boromeo Church in Dover Plains New York, and received first communion at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wharton New Jersey. Patti was confirmed at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, FL.

She is a member of the Lakewood High School class of 81 and attended college classes at Kennesaw State College in Georgia. For the past 17 years she has worked at Insurance Resources handling accounting, human resources, some IT, and various other responsibilities through the years including the planning of company lunch parties. Prior to this two other places Patti enjoyed working were Tech Data in St. Petersburg, FL and 4 Seasons at Beech Mountain in North Carolina.

Patti was preceded in death by her lost child Hope Stewart in 1992, her mother Margaret P. Macking in 2009, her father Harold D. Macking in 2012, and her sister Robin Bunch in 2012.

Patti leaves behind her husband Timothy Dale Stewart and her precious kitty cats; especially Snuggles. Patti is survived by her sister Kathy J. M. Schenato, Eric J. Macking, Paula J. M. Ayers, Timothy J. Macking, and Debra J. M. McDermitt along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Patti will be missed by many people.

Over the years and in her spare time Patti was loved and will be warmly remembered in a multittude of ways including:

• As a Girl Scout in New Jersey, Florida and North Carolina as well as an active volunteer  with troop 196.
• A teacher to young children at North Shore Pool in St. Petersburg, FL.
• A Sunday School teacher in Waleska Georga.
• A member of American Legion Womens Auxillary Unit 252 in Seminole, FL.
• A volunteer at VFW Post 4364 in St. Petersburg, FL.
• Working with KWVA Post 14 alongside her father Harold D. Macking, sister Kathy Schenato, brother Timothy Macking, sister Debra McDermitt, and husband Dale Stewart.
• Being part of the Veterans Liason Council alongside family members as well.
• A cake decorator for family and friend events
• A crafts worker who designed many keepsakes and scrapbooks.
• The teller of, ‘The Night Before Christmas’ to countless nieces, nephews, and children of close friends every Christmas season.
• A poet and writer of some Easter Stories and Poetry (We hope to publish in next couple years)
• A wife, sister, stand-in mother, and friend who, in some way, over the span of her life helped every one of her family members as well as close friends to smile, laugh, be cared for, be assisted, and overall feel loved.

Faith, Forgiveness, Compassion, and Care are but a few of the virtues that Patti exhibited and will live on in the memories that we hold dear and cherish.

A Mass will be celbrated at 12:00 pm (noon) on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1800 12th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior.

THE LOVE STORY
OF A WHIRL-WIND ROMANCE

It all began with a blind date on Friday June 13th, 1986. A truly lucky day in every way.

Only 17 days later we were engaged and then married on December 27th, 1986.

All of the odds were stacked against us. She was Catholic and I was a Pentecostal. We were young and we were poor. We stayed with my brother in his trailer for the first few months. We held each other, we laughed, and we grew together as one.

I was definitely not perfect, Patti would let me know when I was wrong. She showed me how to do the right thing and showed me her love. She was the most forgiving person that I have ever known. Forgiving, Strong, Soft, Sweet, and Loving as we walked together hand in hand.

We took care of each other, our Families, Friends and loved ones, her love was endless. Because of her strength, her compassion, her love we would be together for 30 years.

Then on the day that I knew would come, we talked about it many times.  The hardest thing I have ever done is to release her human hand and allow the Holy Spirit to place her heavenly hand in the hand of God. To be with her father, mother, sister, and our unborn daughter.
