Woodworth, Dale W., 62 of Clearwater, FL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 8th 2017 in Safety Harbor, FL.
Dale is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara J., his daughters, Stephanie Marie and Shannon Megan (fiancé Brandon Klee), his 2 sisters, Carol Taylor and Patricia Branch, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Dale was born in Lackawanna, NY to Clayton and Elsie Woodworth. He graduated from Clearwater High in 1973 and St. Petersburg Junior College in 1975. He began working for Eckerd Drugs in 1976 and had been with CVS/Pharmacy since Eckerd dissolved in 2004. Outside of work, Dale enjoyed kayaking, playing cards, spending time with his family, hanging out with his fur “grandchildren”, and taking various trips with his wife. He was very involved with his church and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His greatest joy in life was having a good time and making everyone around him smile.
A Celebration of Life was on Saturday August 12, 2017 at 2 pm at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1120 Curlew Rd Dunedin, FL. Donations can be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church in Dale’s name.
I worked with Dale at Eckerd. I was the district secretary and also worked in the store with Dale. He was a very kind man. His family and faith came first, but he always gave 100% to his job. He was a joy to work with and was much admired by all his employees. I wish there was a way to make your sorrow a little easier, but we all have great memories to fall back on. I am so sorry I won’t get to see his smile and friendly hello. Dale made a difference in this world, that is what God had in mind. He fulfilled his destiny admirably and will be missed by many. I did not know about the service. I wish I could have been there to thank you, his family, for sharing Dale with us at Eckerd.
I worked with Dale at Eckerd Drugs and also enjoyed his sense of humor and quick wit. He was a very dedicated store manager and always willing to help out when needed. I’m so sorry that his family lost a great man at such a young age.
Barbara, Paul & family
It is hard for me to comprehend the events of these past weeks, but with the grace & strength of God, peace will come.
My thoughts & prayers are with you & all the family.
Peggy
Barbara, Stephanie, and Shannon, I was saddened to learn that Dale had passed. It was a pleasure to have worked with him at Eckerds Store 426 for many years. He was one of the hardest working managers that I ever met and I’ll never forget his kindness and fairness not only to me but to all of the employees he supervised. May he rest in peace and your pain ease with every passing day.
Dale,
I talked to you just a couple hours before this happened. I was praying for you then, that day, that moment, and I continue to pray for God to be the strength and peace that holds your family. I remember you always gave me hours when I needed them. I came because I wanted to help you, even though I didn’t want to miss church, but it allowed you to go to church with your family and that touched my heart. I am glad to have met you. Thank you for caring about my life. Love, little Brii.
To Dales family,
So So sorry for your loss. I am just finding out Dale Passed away. I worked with Dale at Eckerd Drug’s back in the 70’s & 80’s. What a character he was. He was always talking about his family and how proud he was of his girls.I will always remember the good times we had working together at the store.
