Eleanor Matilda Fox, 81, of Thonotosassa, FL passed away on August 5, 2017, at the Florida Hospital in Tampa. She was born in Buffalo, NY.
Eleanor loved pets and was the cat lady of her neighborhood. She took great pleasure in feeding and caring for all of the strays. She loved the Strawberry festival and was very fond of strawberry shortcake. She loved her family and country music. Her Favorite dessert to eat and make was cherry pie. Prior to becoming ill, she loved gardening and growing flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Augusta Kunkel; her sister, Matilda Kunkel Bure; her husband, Jerry Fox and her niece, Sharon Bure Leonard. She is survived by her nieces, Cindy McGuirt (Hank) and Marlene Rhyne (Jim); nephew, Brian Bure (Margaret); five great nieces, Amanda (Anthony) Fox, Ivy (Nate) Bibliowocz, Amy Bure, and Katie Lehart; three great nephews, Patrick (Kerrie) Leonard, Matthew (Jessica) Leonard, and Adam Bure (Paige); four great-great nieces; six great-great nephews and sister-in-law, Esther Abbott.
A service is scheduled for 2:15PM at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL, on Friday, September 29, 2017.
