Marilyn Joan Zoller maiden name Calhoun, died peacefully after a long two years battling Brain Cancer on September, 30th 2017 in Pinnellas Park at the age of 63. She was surrounded by her loving Caregiver Husband, her children, and some close family and friends.
Marilyn is survived by her life long love Robert Charles Zoller, Sr of Largo, Florida Veteran of 21 years; Robert Charles Zoller, Jr (Son) and Leighan Zoller of Savannah, Georgia; Alison Sprankle (Daughter) and Justin Sprankle of Columbus, Ohio; Chris Zoller (Son) and Linda Zoller of Tampa, Florida; Robert Calhoun (Brother) Jane Calhoun of New Hartford, New York; Sue Long (Sister) and Rodger Long of Cortland, New York; Richard Calhoun (Brother) and Laurie Calhoun of Utica, New York. Marilyn was a proud Nana to her five Grandchildren, Stephen, Abigale, Jesse, Robert lll (Tres), and Mallory. She was also a proud Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was also a friend to many. Marilyn is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Margaret and Richard Calhoun.
Marilyn was born on January 5, 1954 in New Hartford, New York to Margaret and Richard Calhoun. She graduated from New Hartford, NY high school in 1973, she then went on to study and practice Cosmetology as her career. She married Bob on November 30, 1974 in Euclid Ohio at Euclid Lutheran Church. Throughout the years, Marilyn was a loving Military Spouse who supported her Husband with his many different duty locations and his assignments. Marilyn has three Children that she loved to the ends of the Earth and they will miss her smile and laughter every day.
Marilyn had a heart of gold and donated her time and efforts volunteering at many different events and with many different people through the years. She had an infectious laugh that would light up any room to all who heard her. She enjoyed her time volunteering and undertaking many activities which supported our Military Veterans. She was a loyal member of the American Legion Post 40 Auxiliary in Fort Pierce, FL; VFW Auxiliary Post 3863 in Eastlake, OH; and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles AEIRE 4086 in Wickliffe, OH.
A funeral service is scheduled for October 16th, at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, St. Petersburg, FL, with a reception to follow at Oak Crest Mobile Park Clubhouse 9925 Ulmerton Rd, Largo, FL. Father Bob Swick will officiate the ceremony at Bay Pines at 9:15 am. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marilyn’s life. I am beyond sorry for your loss. She was a very strong woman and a tough fighter. As my condolences go out to this entire family, please know she will forever be your hearts and many others. My heart breaks for you all. I only met her a handful of times, but know how much she meant to so many. I’m keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Rest easy Aunt Marilyn.
