Craig “Matt” M. McArthur, 60, St. Petersburg, FL, passed away peacefully at his home, December 30, 2018. He was born October 13, 1958, in Green Bay, WI to the late Maxwell “Max” B. and Delia “Dee” C. McArthur. Craig served in the US Navy from 1980-1982, as a boiler room mechanical specialist. He enjoyed traveling and seeing the world and serving our country. He went on to become an OTR truck driver for many years, again embracing his passion for travel. He was very proud of his 30 years of sobriety and touched many lives as a sponsor, confidant and friend. He loved animals and cherished any time spent with his many K-9 friends. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing pool, darts, any card games, board games, the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, NHL Hockey and time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his sisters Lori (Karen) McArthur, Green Bay, WI, Amy (Robert) Thompson, Pulaski, WI and Maureen (Scott) Hertwig, Gillett, WI and nieces and nephews, Andrew Thompson, San Angelo, TX, Miranda Ness, Milwaukee, WI, Noah Filppula-McArthur, Green Bay, WI, WI, Taylor Ruiz, Pulaski, WI, Joshua Filppula-McArthur, Green Bay, and aunts and uncles, cousins and special friend, Carolyn Ellingson, Seattle, WA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael McArthur, aunts, Bonnie Tesch and Eileen McArthur, and grandparents.
Graveside services honoring Craig and his Navy service will begin at 10:00am on Friday March 22nd, 2019 at Bay Pines National Cemetery. Guests and family members attending are encouraged to arrive at 9:30am.
