Dorothy Jean Wilson, 83, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on July 12, 2019, at the Summerfield ALF in Bradenton, Florida. She was born in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. She bravely fought a long battle with dementia.
She was a devoted and loving wife and military spouse for 22 years to her husband of 56 years. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family, and loyal friend to all who knew her. She loved yellow butterflies, yellow roses, music, and she loved to dance.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Neil T. Wilson; parents, Dorothy A. and Hilton R. Clark; sister, Barbara M. McCarthy; and infant son, Kevin John Wilson.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, Jack R. Clark; sister, Pamela M. Heftler; daughters, Kimberly A. Bailes, Elizabeth A. Gibson, Kristen A. Emmons, and Victoria A. Downey; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service has been scheduled for 10:00AM on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church. The church is located at 12905 East State Road 70, Lakewood Ranch, FL.
