Pastor James H. Errickson


Pastor James H. Errickson, 91, of Largo, Florida, died on November 21, 2019, at his home following a three (3) year battle with cancer and bone disease. He was born in 1928 in Clearwater, Florida, to the late Al and Ethel (French) Errickson.  On January 20, 1952, he married Doris Belcher at the First Church of the Nazarene in Clearwater, Florida.

James graduated from Trevecca High School in 1946 and attended Trevecca Nazarene College for two years. He spent four years in the US Navy from 1948 through 1952. He was stationed on the island of Guam for 28 months and finished his career on board a destroyer out of San Diego, California.   He came back to Trevecca in Nashville, Tennessee and finished college in 1956. He graduated in 1960 from the Nazarene Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.

He took on his first church assignment in a small lake town Orland, Indiana. Then he pastored churches in Elkhart, Indiana and Poplar Bluff, Missouri before returning to Florida and taking churches in Zephyrhills and Seminole. He pastored the Zephyrhills church for twelve years. He finished his Pastoral life in Seminole, Florida and then spent fourteen years as an Associate Pastor at Clearwater First Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Ethel; sister, Martha Rhoe; and son, Warren “Monty” Errickson. He is survived by his wife, Doris Errickson; daughter, Terry (Russell) Seaver; grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley) and Brandyn (Angelique) Errickson; Eric and Amy Seaver; great-granddaughter Adalynn and many friends around the country.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at First Church of the Nazarene located at 1875 Nursery Road, Clearwater, Florida 33764. A Public Viewing will commence at 10:00AM and will be followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM. On Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 1:00PM, Pastor Errickson will be interred at the Clearwater Municipal Cemetery, located at the corner of South Myrtle Avenue and Lakeview Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Jesus Film, 15055 West 116th Avenue, Olathe, Kansas, 66062.
