Jack Masarjian, “Jacob Masar” 87 of Cooper City, Florida peacefully passed away surrounded by family and gospel bluegrass on Friday, December 13, 2019. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut on April 9, 1932, son of the late Albert and Mary Masarjian.
A Korean war veteran, Jacob joined the U.S Navy in 1949 and was stationed on the USS Siboney. Upon discharge, he dedicated his time as a Clergyman. Jacob truly loved playing and listening to Bluegrass music. He was a member of the South Florida Bluegrass Association. Jacob was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Sargent and his sister, Eleanor Masarjian. He is survived by his five children, Linda Egge, Nancy Porter, Jesse Masarjian, Mary Roberts, and Debra Benes as well as 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held graveside at South Florida National Cemetery 6501 SR-7 Lake Worth, FL. Celebration of life to follow at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hal Roberts. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider donations in Jacob’s memory to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation. (DVNF)

I enjoyed playing in the “Country Gospelaires” with Jack in 1970 or so. He gave me his mandolin which I would make available if one of you want it. I spent many Thursday nights practicing music at your house on Hoppenville Road, Green Lane, PA.
