My dad Ray was such a good man!
He was kind, good-hearted and always there when you needed him.
He was so many things to many people.
As a young man, he was a helper to his mom, helping her with chores like washing the floors, cleaning
And doing the laundry:
Albeit it somewhat unwillingly at times,
In the Army, during WWll, he served as a Corporal in an anti-aircraft battalion at Normandy and Northern France and Italy. He was decorated with a Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, European Theatre Medal with two bronze battle stars and a WWll Victory Medal.
During that time even though army pay was small, he sent money home to his mom to help with the
Bills since his dad was somewhat incapacitated at times.
To Erie Engine, after the war, he was a talented assembler that was
Responsible for piping and assembling enormous pieces of manufacturing machinery.
To my mom, Doris, he was a good and faithful husband and companion for almost 70 years
Until her death right before Thanksgiving last year.
Always there for her to help around the house with repairs, shop for groceries,
And do any number of errands for her.
To my sister and myself, he was a wonderful dad.
So kind, so good hearted, so generous with his time and money.
He never made a lot of money but he was always willing to share what he had.
He loved to go to the race track and play the daily number in PA and
Most times lost but when he won, he always shared those winnings with
Mom, my sister and myself.
He was the best father that a child could ever have and I will miss him
Always and forever
But I know that he is now reunited with my mom
Never to be parted again.
So sad to hear of Ray’s passing. He was a wonderful man. Kind and considerate and always smiling. I know he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. May he Rest In Peace alongside his wife, Doris and daughter and grandson. I believe Linda will be surrounded with love as they all watch over her.
Ray was such a wonderful man and most importantly a friend. Our morning class time (as he described it) will never be the same. I will forever miss his pretending to ignore me eith a wonderful, playful glint in his eye until the frown gave way to his beautiful smile as I walked away. Ray, you will always be in my heart! I love you!

Linda, I am so sorry. I have wonderful memories of my dear Uncle Ray and Aunt Doris too. I always said their names together. Playing, laughing, crying and growing up. I spent so much time at 418. . He was a great guy and always my favorite. God’s blessings on you! I love you.
