Neal Kenneth Anderson of Seminole, Florida, died in his home on Thursday, October 15, 2020. He was 67.
The son of the late Roy G. and Charlotte E. Anderson (Turner), Neal was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, on December 31, 1952. He attended public schools in Brockton and Randolph, Massachusetts, and graduated from Randolph High School in 1970.
After earning a medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1976, Neal served as a physician in the Air Force at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington in the late 1970s and early 80s. He was proud to be a U.S. Veteran.
Returning to New England, he worked in private practice and served as head of the Emergency Room at the former Bath Memorial Hospital before joining the VA Hospital in Togus, Maine, where he remained until his retirement fourteen years later. In 2008 he graduated Juris Doctorate from the University of Maine School of Law, following up with an advanced degree in Elder Law from Stetson University College of Law in 2015.
He remained in Maine, living primarily in Richmond, until moving to Seminole, Florida in 2008.
Neal loved music, playing guitar in bands and writing original songs, which he continued throughout his life. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, history, and time with his family.
Neal is survived by his wife, June Anderson (Lucas) of Seminole, Florida; his daughter, Elizabeth Leone and her husband Carl of St. Petersburg, Florida; his daughter Mary Charlotte Plummer and her husband Dustin of West Bath, Maine; his stepdaughters: Kristin Crafts and her husband Jonathan of Acton, Massachusetts; Stephanie Morse and her husband Kevin of Richmond, Maine; Taylor Geraghty and her fiancé Greg Lacina of Seminole, Florida; Kelsey Geraghty of Seminole, Florida; his grandchildren: Denley, Dylan, Eleanor, Graham, Alden, Charlie, Carson, and Anna; his younger brother David Anderson and his wife Rebecca of Cape Coral, Florida, and their children, Jake and Charlotte; by his sister-in-law, Jane Hobeika (Lucas) and her husband Antoine of Blacksburg, Virginia; and by his beloved dogs, Bogey and Humphrey.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Charlotte Anderson, and by his stepmother, Dorothy Anderson.
There will be a private ceremony on Friday, October 23, 2020.

My heartfelt condolences to the Anderson family. I knew Neal both as a physician colleague, but also as a fellow guitar player. We recently shared recordings of original songs with each other. He will be sincerely missed!
So very sorry to hear of your dad’s passing…too young for such a sharp and caring man…we graduated from high school together…so happy to hear he had a loving family…sad to reconnect via FB and lose him so young. Will think of all of his loved ones often hoping you can focus on the good memories. He was a pleasure to know.

I’m so sad to hear that Neal passed away. We both worked in Psychiatry at Togus VA. He was a thoughtful and caring physician well thought of by his patients. After retirement, Neal and I kept in touch via messenger and it wasn’t too long ago that I sent him a message and hit FaceTime by mistake and suddenly this big smile greets me. He talked about his daughters, grandkids and his wife June and his happy he was living in Florida. I’m now very thankful I made that mistake and had the opportunity to talk with him again. Rest In Peace, Neal, I will surely miss our “talks”.
